Couple celebrates art and music of Satchmo (Independent)

AMatawan husband and wife will bring their artistic talents to the Blue Moon Cafe on South Broadway in South Amboy on Sunday. Author Steven Brower will be signing copies of his new book, “Satchmo: The Wonderful World and Art of Louis Armstrong,” while his wife Kati Brower of the band Nine Below Zero will be performing Armstrong’s songs with some of her friends.

Star trek beams up new toys (The New Sabah Times)

The revival of Star Trek on the big screen wouldn’t be complete without a new toy line. Now that Mission: Impossible III helmer J.J. Abrams has reimagined the franchise with a prequel going back to James T. Kirk and crew’s early days at Starfleet Command, toymakers are boldly looking to reinvent their merch with a slew of playthings to coincide with the blockbuster’s May 8 release.
